Why do you volunteer?

I was on the receiving end of everything that goes into volunteering for many years, and it became very important to me to recognize all that dedication and hard work by volunteering my own time.

Why do you volunteer with the YMCA specifically?

The YMCA, specifically Camp Chief Hector, has been apart of my life for as long as I can remember and has played a large part in shaping me into the person I am today, so deciding to be apart of that for someone else was one of the easiest decisions I have ever made.

What is your favourite thing about volunteering?

My favourite part of volunteering is being able to see the difference that camp chief Hector makes in many these children’s lives and being able to be apart of the memories that they make while they’re here.

What is your YMCA story? What brought you here?

I started going to Camp Chief Hector when I was 6 years old and knew the minute I got there, that it was a very special place. Camp taught me about respect and responsibility and made me passionate about the outdoors. I am forever grateful for everything that Camp Chief Hector has done for me over the years and am extremely honoured to be able to give back to the place that has been my home for so many years.
